Rewards of Sending Durood upon Beloved Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

Understanding the Concept of Zikar in Islam

In Islam, our religion, there are many types of zikar, and each carries specific blessings. However, among all forms of remembrance, one zikar remains universally accepted in the court of Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ, and that is sending Durood / Darood upon the beloved Rasool صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The Quranic Command to Send Durood

This noble act is obligatory upon every Muslim, clearly stated in the Holy Quran, where Allah and His angels send Blessings and salutations upon the Prophet, the informer of unseen news, and command all believers to do the same (Al Ahzaab 56).

Evidence from Authentic Ahadith on the Rewards of Durood

Numerous Ahadith describing reward confirm the unmatched virtue of this practice. According to Sunan Tirmizi (vol 2, pp 27, Hadees 484) and Ibn Majah (1, 490, 907), even once reciting Durood earns ten mercies, records virtuous deeds in the book of deeds, and gives the believer a choice to recite less or more, making its rewards countless, beneficial in this world, and lasting in the hereafter.

The Pleasure of Allah Through Sending Durood

From lived experience, consistent recitation of As-Salatu Alan-n-Nabi as a form of prayer brings the pleasure of Allah, a blessing that transforms both spiritual and worldly life.

Intercession on the Day of Judgment

One of the greatest rewards of Durood is the promise of intercession on the Day of Judgment, granting closeness to the Messenger on Qiyamah, as narrated by Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masud R.A and Sayyidina Rasulullah.

Forgiveness of Sins and Elevation of Ranks

Sending Durood becomes a cause of forgiveness of sins, an increase in virtuous deeds, and the elevation of ranks, raising the sender in status before Allah.

Increase in Sustenance and Relief from Difficulties

This blessed act leads to increase in sustenance, provides help in difficulties, removes pains from the body, and serves as a good cure for diseases, something many believers witness through regular practice.

Purification of the Heart and Protection from Sin

The recitation of Durood cleanses the heart, keeps one away from bad thinking, restores forgotten recollection, and keeps persons protected from backbiting when they meet.

The Blessing of Seeing the Vision of Mustafa ﷺ

Among the most cherished rewards is the privilege to see the blessed vision of Mustafa, a wish deeply rooted in the heart of every believer, fulfilled through abundant Durood.

Special Rewards of Sending Durood on Friday

On Friday, the most revered day, Salawat are presented directly to the Prophet, increasing reward and strengthening spiritual connection.

Ease on the Siraat Bridge

On the Siraat Bridge, when every moment is difficult, sending Durood becomes a source of easiness, helping the believer to pass safely.

Durood-e-Ibrahimi: An Essential Part of Salah

This Divine action, incorporated into daily mandatory Salah through Durood-e-Ibrahimi, is an essential element of Islamic belief, without which Namaz is incomplete.

Fulfilling the Right of Rasulullah ﷺ

Sending Durood fulfills the right of Rasulullah, draws the believer closer to the Exalted Lord, and completes a deeply sacred duty—a principle I regularly emphasize while teaching in Our Courses, which are available with a Monthly fee and a Free trail for sincere seekers.
